Ramen Coleslaw


Dressing Ingredients:
⅔ cups oil
½ cup sugar
¼ cup vinegar
Ramen flavor packet

Salad Ingredients:
1 head Green cabbage,sliced or chopped
1 head Red cabbage, sliced or chopped
2-3 carrots, shredded
1 bunch of green onions(chopped)

Toppings:
½ cup sliced almonds
3 TBS cup sesame seeds
1 pkg. Oriental Ramen noodles(broken up)


1. Combine dressing ingredients and let set, do not refrigerate.

2. Toast the almonds and sesame seeds: Set the oven to broil, while it heats place the seeds and almonds in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Place the cookie sheet in the oven, only toast until they are golden brown. Be sure not to burn them, it doesn’t take long.

3. Combine salad ingredients in a large bowl.

4. Add dressing and toss to coat.


Yields: 6+ servings

NOTES:
For more flavor make the dressing the night before.
Add cooked meat or mandarin oranges for more variety.
Can simplify by buying packaged coleslaw mix, salad topping almonds, and pre-shredded carrots.
