Peanut Blossoms


1¾ unsifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup butter flavored shortening
½ cup chunky peanut butter
1 egg
2 Tbs milk
1 tsp vanilla
Chocolate kisses, unwrapped


1.Preheat 375 degrees.

2. Cream together sugars, shortening and peanut butter.

3. Add to cream mixture egg, milk and vanilla.

4. In a separate bowl; shift together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, combine until well mixed.

5. Roll into 1" balls. Roll in sugar.

6. Bake for 12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.

7. Remove from oven and press chocolate kiss into center. Let cool.


Yields: 4 dozen

NOTES:
To make regular peanut butter cookies: Criss-Cross with a fork before baking
