1 cup scalded milk (warmed to until small bubbles form around the edge. DO NOT BOIL!)
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 cup water
2 eggs
6 cups flour
¼ cup oil + Additional for frying
2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons yeast
1. Mix milk, oil, sugar and salt in food mixer.
2. Add water slowly, yeast, eggs, and flour.
3. Mix well and place in a greased (coat dish in cooking spray), covered dish. Place in fridge until doubled in size.
4. While dough rises, during the last 5 minutes, heat oil on stove over low-medium heat.
5. Roll dough out to about ⅛ inch thick OR pull off pieces and flatten to desired size. (This will determine how many you make)
6. Cook in hot oil until golden about 1-3 minutes each side (make sure it cooks ALL THE WAY through). BE CAREFUL NOT TO SPLASH OIL!!! If it spits turn it down. Use tongs to flip and remove scones.
7. Drain on paper towels.
