Sticky Corn

2 cups butter
1⅓ cup sugar
½ cup karo syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
Food coloring, optional
3 bags popped popcorn

1. Pop popcorn in microwave. DO NOT BURN!!! Pick out any unpopped kernels. Place popcorn in a LARGE white bowl.

2. Over medium heat in a medium sized sauce pan melt butter.

3. Add sugar and karo syrup.

4. Cook on medium high for 10 minutes. Check by filling a glass with COLD water. Take a small amount of sugar mixture and drop into water. It should get hard. If it is still soft, cook for additional time. Retesting every 5 minutes.

5. Take sugar off heat, add vanilla and stir.

6. Pour sugar mixture over popcorn and stir to coat thoroughly

Yields: 6+ servings

NOTES:
Can add stuff for more flavor and fun! (Jelly beans, Chocolate chips, licorice, etc)
